Installation notes

Specify plenum wherever the void is used to move return air. An inspector will not accept riser-rated cable there, and a failed inspection means pulling the whole run again.

Use solid core for permanent runs punched down at both ends. Anywhere the cable moves, stranded is the correct choice; solid will eventually break inside the jacket.

Supplied on a reel, so plan for a jack stand at the pull point; feeding off a reel lying flat is how you put twists into the run.

Fire alarm circuits must be kept separate from line-voltage wiring and, in most jurisdictions, from other low-voltage systems. Keep the red jacket visible in the tray so the next person can identify the circuit without tracing it out.
