1 / 3The UD-2000 is a Digital Alarm Communicator Transmitter (DACT) designed to connect fire alarm control panels to central monitoring stations via standard phone lines. It supports up to two phone lines for redundant communication and automatically monitors line voltage, seizing the line when an alarm event occurs.
This communicator transmits alarm signals using industry-standard SIADCS or Ademco Contact ID protocols, ensuring compatibility with major monitoring center receivers. Once communication is complete, the unit automatically disconnects the line. It is compatible with IPA, AFC, and ARC series addressable fire alarm panels as well as PFC-4064 conventional panels, making it suitable for both new installations and upgrades.
The unit operates on 24V DC power with minimal current draw (16mA standby, 23mA during alarm). Installation is straightforward—it mounts behind the main panel with an LCD display accessible via the user interface bracket. The package includes two RJ45 phone cords and requires connection to a POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) line or equivalent. For proper operation, phone line conductors should be 26AWG or larger and run in separate conduit from other circuits.
