About the CX-ED1799L-8

The Camden CX-ED1799L-8 is an all-in-one electric strike for cylindrical and mortise locksets that combines the strike with built-in latch, deadbolt, door position and power monitoring. It suits installers who want one low-profile, Grade 1 fire rated unit that reports the state of the door and lock without separate add-on switches. Selectable fail safe or fail secure operation and selectable 12/24V AC/DC input make it adaptable to different access control setups.

Key features

  • Grade 1 fire rated strike with dual lock monitors and a strike monitor.
  • Works with mortise and cylindrical locksets, with strike and faceplate packages for latchbolts and deadbolts.
  • Fail safe or fail secure operation is selectable, as is 12/24V AC/DC input.
  • Includes one or two latch and deadbolt monitoring switches, a magnetic door position switch and a strike power monitor.
  • Shim plates are provided in the strike cavity, and easy fit connectors speed up wiring.
  • Faceplates are also offered in a black architectural finish (BHMA 622, US19).

Installation notes

Set the fail safe or fail secure mode and the supply voltage before powering the strike, and choose the faceplate that matches your latchbolt or deadbolt. Use the shim plates in the strike cavity to fine-tune the fit against the lock, then test the lock, door position and power monitor outputs with the door closed and open before handing over.
