About the 7440-628

The Adams Rite 7440-628 is a UltraLine 7400 Series electric strike in a clear anodized finish, built to release a door electrically for access control. It suits installers and businesses fitting aluminum, hollow metal or wood doors with an Adams Rite deadlatch or a cylindrical lockset. It is rated UL 1034 and UL 294 and ANSI/BHMA Grade 1, with a 1500 lb holding strength and a field-selectable fail safe or fail secure setting.

Key features

  • The basic 7400 strike has a lip sized for a 1-3/4″ (44.5 mm) thick door that closes flush with the jamb edge.
  • The bolt retaining keeper is stainless steel.
  • It accepts the bolt of Adams Rite 4500, 4700 (discontinued) or 4900 deadlatch or cylindrical locksets.
  • You can switch between fail safe and fail secure in the field.
  • Faceplates are available in a range of sizes, shapes and architectural finishes.
